Whereas: The development of affordable digital-video cameras and computer non-linear editing systems removes the economic barrier to movie-making. Now anyone with a middle-class income can make a professional-quality movie.
Whereas: The rise of the World Wide Web as a venue for distributing movies removes the gatekeeping effect by distributors and exhibitors. Now anyone with an Internet connection can place their movie before the world.
Be it resolved: That movie-makers can work independently to create, distribute, and promote movies. Hollywood may be the Major League of movie-making, but it is simply not relevant to creators of the Minor Mogul ilk.
